About The Icelandic River Community Foundation

When the IRCF was formed, all remaining funds held by the former Arborg & Districts Health Centre Foundation were transferred into it.  Additional start-up funds were donated by the Noventis Credit Union Ltd.  Incorporated as a Public Foundation, our charitable status permits IRCF to issue tax receipts for donations.

An independent Board of Directors consisting of community leaders manages the affairs of the Icelandic River Community Foundation with the assistance of Community Foundations of Canada and The Winnipeg Foundation.

Our Mission

The mission of the Icelandic River Community Foundation is to ensure that those who care deeply about the future of the Rural Municipality of Bifrost, Arborg, Riverton and surrounding areas have a vehicle through which they can improve lives, strengthen families and build community, today, tomorrow and forever.

What We Do: Donations large or small, are invested in a permanent endowment and each year the investment income is used to support the betterment of our community, whether it be for health care, education, senior’s or children’s services, recreation, the environment, culture and heritage or another cause.

Funds donated to the IRCF are invested and carefully managed with the assistance of the Winnipeg Foundation, taking advantage of their in-depth knowledge and long history of success.

The Icelandic River Community Foundation’s professionally managed endowment fund will support our community in perpetuity.
